Mock Exams
At the end of October, pupils have the opportunity to sit mock exams with Stepping Stone Tuition. Exams can be very daunting for children, therefore the opportunity to have a practice at sitting both a Maths and English paper under exam conditions, we have found to be an invaluable experience for them.

MATHS PAPER
The Mathematics paper is intended to assess mathematical ability with questions focusing on problem solving and two or three stage worded problems. Questions include some simple calculations, number patterns and relations, spatial relations and elementary logical reasoning.
60 MINS
ENGLISH PAPER
The English Paper consists of two parts. Part 1 is a 30 minute English Comprehension paper which tests candidates’ reading skills by asking them to respond to a passage of writing. The passage will be taken from fiction and will contain questions intended to check that the candidate has fully understood what is described in the passage. Part 2 is a 30 minute composition paper which tests the candidates’ writing skills. Candidates will be asked to complete a piece of creative writing based on four different stimuli.
